Faithful Stewardship Understands Your Church's Liability Risks

Pastor Robert had always been proud of his church in Waco. It had grown into a lively gathering place for worship, events, and community outreach. It was the kind of church that felt like home the moment you walked in the door. But one Sunday morning, a simple accident shattered that sense of normalcy. A newer member slipped on a wet spot near the entrance, hit his head on the tile, and was unable to work for months. Medical bills piled up, income was lost, and before long, an attorney stepped in. What began as an unfortunate mishap quickly escalated into a lawsuit that forced the church to confront the real weight of its liability exposure.

The legal fees alone were a wake-up call for Pastor Robert and the leadership team. They had coverage, but they had never fully considered how quickly risk can turn into financial strain. And they’re not alone. Texas churches of every size face liability threats that can derail ministry plans and drain resources if they’re not addressed ahead of time. In this week’s episodes, we walked through different types of liability that Texas churches face.
