All the Insurance Topics a Texan Could Want

Monty Got a Raw Deal. You Don't Have to.

If you're a fan of the band R.E.M., you might be familiar with their song "Monty Got a Raw Deal."

The song is about the Hollywood actor Montgomery Clift, and how he was treated poorly by the film industry as his career progressed.

Clift was one of the most talented and successful actors of his generation, but he was often typecast in roles that didn't reflect his true talent, and he struggled to find work as he got older.

As a result, he didn't get the respect or recognition he deserved, and he died penniless and alone.

While Monty may have gotten a raw deal, you don't have to when it comes to home insurance.

Though there are standard insurance policies out there and plenty of big-name agencies that would like to dictate by writing you the same kind of policy they write for many others, you have other options.

And as a Texan (whether new or established), it's ok to strut with a bit of independence. People who call other states and nations home tend to expect it of us.

As an independent insurance agency, we look to foster that spirit and provide better solutions.

    Why? Because we can.

We aren't bound by one policy for the people. We look at your needs and try to fit them with the right policies and do that over and over.

    Automatic. For the people.

But since you have other things to attend to in your independent life, home insurance may not prove to sit at the top of your mind.

However, you can't afford to not have it in place and ready to provide if you get a raw deal from a storm, accident, fire, or many other perils.

    What is Home Insurance?

Home insurance is a type of property insurance that covers your home and belongings in the event of damage or theft. It can also provide liability coverage if someone is injured on your property. A home insurance policy typically includes four types of coverage:

Why Do I Need Home Insurance?

While you hope that nothing bad will ever happen to your home or belongings, it's always better to prove safe than sorry.

Home insurance can give you peace of mind knowing that you're protected in the event of an emergency and can help you to restore, rebuild, and return to the state prior to the damage caused.

Home insurance is designed to protect you from a variety of risks, including fire, theft, vandalism, and weather damage.

It can also provide liability coverage if someone is injured on your property.

While no one likes paying for insurance, it's a necessary expense that can save you a lot of money in the long run.

So, if you're not already insured, be sure to get a policy in place as soon as possible.

How Can I Save on Home Insurance?

The cost of home insurance varies depending on a number of factors, including the value of your home, the amount of coverage you need, and the location of your home.

However, the average cost of home insurance in Texas is $1,560 per year.

There are a few things you can do to save on your home insurance premium:

Increase your deductible - The deductible is the amount you have to pay before your insurance coverage kicks in. If you're willing to increase your deductible, you could see a significant reduction in your premium.

Bundle your policies - Many insurers offer discounts if you bundle your home and auto insurance policies together.

Improve your credit score - A good credit score can help you get a lower rate on your home insurance policy.

Shop around - Comparing quotes from different insurers is the best way to ensure you're getting the best deal on your home insurance policy.

Insurance For Texans is an independent insurance agency, so we understand that one size does not fit all when it comes to home insurance. We work with a variety of carriers to find the best coverage for your unique needs at the best price.

That is the True Texas way we subscribe to.

Don't get a raw deal by choosing the wrong insurance policy or choosing not to get home insurance because you think it's too expensive or unnecessary.

Home insurance is an important (and affordable) way to protect your most valuable asset: your home.

Whether you're a R.E.M fan or not, make sure you're adequately covered by shopping around for home insurance that fits both your needs and budget.
